Where We Are

[A]bundant Life Coffee is working in the southwestern mountains of Honduras. This area is very near to the borders of El Salvador and Guatemala. The area is very rural, some areas accessible only with 4 wheel drive trucks. The communities we work with are very small. There are very few automobiles in use in these areas. Old school buses are used for public transportation. Otherwise, the most common methods of travel are by horse or donkey, or on foot.

It is not uncommon for some of the pastors we know to have to walk as much as 45 minutes to get from their home to the churches they serve. Some of the communities have electricity but most do not. Because of these conditions there is not a lot of work as we know it available. Providing people with coffee farming allows the families to work together to support themselves without having to endure very difficult travel conditions.
